Junevity collaboration with Eli Lilly ExploR&D in Parkinson's Disease
Leverages Junevity's RESET Platform to identify novel siRNA targets for Parkinson's
We're excited to announce that Junevity has entered a Catalyze Agreement with Eli Lilly ExploR&D to support our RESET Platform efforts to discover novel siRNA targets for Parkinson’s Disease.
Parkinson’s Disease affects 10 million patients globally and is growing quickly. To date, there are no disease-modifying therapeutics available for patients. Recent breakthroughs in blood-brain barrier delivery make siRNA a viable option, opening up new gene targets previously undruggable by small molecules.
This is where the Junevity RESET Platform comes in. Our team applied RESET to RNA-seq datasets of healthy vs. diseased Parkinson’s patient samples (600 patients, 400,000 cells and billions of data points) and large-scale GWAS and eQTL genetic datasets. We identified multiple promising, novel siRNA gene targets with disease-modifying potential in Parkinson’s.
The focus of this collaboration is applying Lilly’s expertise towards validation and selection of a lead gene target derived from the RESET Platform. Gaining access to Lilly's deep R&D expertise and capabilities in brain delivery and Parkinson’s Disease is a meaningful step to progress our work.
Parkinson’s is near and dear to our hearts. We can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together.
